First class 2016

Have been thinking to resume quilling classes but never manage to put the thoughts into action. And at last, a friend came visiting us during CNY said that she wanted to learn quilling. Co-incidentally, there's another lady who approached us earlier on through FB having the same will, so we managed to have a last minute class a day before Valentine's day.

It was an enjoyable class as it's a small class with only two students. So we get to interact and chit chat while quilling. Here are the art work created by the students after learning basic quilling shapes.

We look forward to more classes this year! Meanwhile, if you want to have quilling session at your bridal shower, birthday party or even product launching events or functions, please feel free to contact us.

Quilling Classes December 2013

Happy new year to our blog readers! Oh, can't believe that it's already 7th of Jan! I'm so not ready with 2014. >_<

To begin the new year with, I would like to share some photos from our quilling classes conducted in December last year.

Adult Beginner Class
We first started quilling class in Dec 2012. And this is our 8th class already!

Kids Holiday Fun Quilling Class
It's our second attempt conducting kids quilling class. This time we made quilling easier for these young quillers by rolling corrugated/ board strips. The strips are wider and thus easier to work with for our young learners. (We use this KIT for our kids class)

Quilling is fun! Don't you agree?

Quilling Advance Class - Wide and Dimensional Quilling

We had our first advance class last month. For advance level, we actually offer two classes, one on wide and dimensional quilling, while the other focuses on husking and combing techniques.

For this round, there were two students and both of them had attended our beginner classes in the past.

Practicing on wide quilling - making different versions of quilled roses.
Going dimensional - understanding the fundamentals.

Worked on mini project - the minion!
 Yay, I completed the lesson!
 Learning outcome

 We had fun quilling!

Quilling Beginner Class Aug 2013

Last Saturday 31st August was Independence Day of Malaysia. We had a quilling beginner class in the morning. It was a class of 6 students, all ladies. It was a special and fun class because of the presence of three retired ladies which I called them 'the three musketeers'. They are fun and optimistic ladies and their happiness is contagious. The entire class was full of joy. I myself had good hearty laughs during the class. The class is special for the reasons that: for first time ever, we managed to take group photo (thanks to the musketeer's suggestion and everybody's effort to stay back for the photo session) and for the first time too, a certificate of attendance was awarded at the end of the class. They even thought of coming back together as a class for our future advance classes.

The following are some of the photos taken during the class. Please enjoy. =)

Quilling Classes Jan 2013 - Man Power!

We had two adult beginner quilling classes in January, one conducted in Mandarin and another in English to cater for different needs of students. Surprisingly, this time round I have male students in both classes - which is a great sign!

The first class was held on new year day! Yes, we started quilling right on the first day of 2013! We had 5 students for the class (including a guy) - the number is just nice for the lesson so that I could pay attention to every students.

The fundamentals

Spot the only guy? He is as good as (or even better) than the girls.

Students' work

The second class was held on a Saturday afternoon, on the 12th. This time we had 4 students, majority being men! To date, I have had 6 male students after conducting six adult classes (8 if you count the 2 boys in my kids fun quilling class!). And among these students, three are crafters who have had previous experience with quilling. So I decided to come up with a new project pattern to suit their need. (If you are interested with the pattern, click HERE)

Who says man doesn't quill?

See? I can quill!

Summer Quilling Class

We had an adult's beginner class last night. It was not in my plan and sort of a 'last-minute' class that I'm not in time to do any announcement here on the blog. I had 3 students for this class: PS and PC who are sisters, and also V, their cousin, and they do handmade cards too. Thanks to PS who initiated it. I myself was actually having a hectic week and am a bit stressed out but thanks to these lovely ladies, I managed to have fun. Crafting is relaxing!

Introducing the ladies
PS working on her coils
V working with her purple nails
That's PC with her coils
They said it felt like coming for a tuition class but this was more fun, haha! Yep, time passes real fast when you are doing something that you really enjoy.

PS deciding the colours for her petals
PC working on her 'autumn theme' project
By the way, did I mention that PS and PC are twins? It actually took me some time to realize this as they were sitting each on my left and right. Haha!

V working carefully to assemble her pieces

We worked on a simple flower pattern for their mini-project, but look what these ladies manage to come up with:

Quilling is sure a wonderful art!
